Neither do I kid, neither do I

I was on the phone with the boy last night. He is getting to be very responsible and he is 8 now, the same age I got my first shotgun. I was telling him how proud I was of him and that it was about time I gave him his first gun. I explained that we could go to the range and practice and next fall I would take him hunting.

He seemed up for it, the shooting part anyway. Disney has done a number on his idea of what should be eaten and what shouldn't. Damn cartoons, associating human characteristics with animals. Its okay, more squirrel for me. So after we were done talking he gave the phone to his mother and I proceeded to explain how much I missed her in the hopes that she will let me in the door when I get home. That's when the crying started.

I started talking to him again and explained that he didn't have to do anything he didn't want to, and that includes hunting. After all, I was just hoping he and I could spend some quality time together that didn't involve Harry Potter or Star Wars. I am getting tired of the two of them whuppin me in light saber duals. Turns out, he doesn't want to grow up. He doesn't like the idea of having to go to work. Neither do I.

On a different note:
Here is my down dog, now show me yours!
