If he cant go, I aint going either!!!!

Last night I was on a plane reading outdoor life and discussing bird dogs with a stewardess. I don't think she ever owned a hunting dog, but she did have a golden lab. I was describing old dog (bandit). He was an English Setter, with a god given skill to hunt birds. We started hunting together when I was 8. He died when I was 18. Even with arthritis he could out hunt me on my best day. Anyway, the article described how most bird hunters can recall timelines in dogs instead of years.

The article also said something about the author hoping to do some hunting with his first dog in heaven. That lead the Baptist next to me into a monologue about how dogs cant go to heaven because they don't contribute to the church. This allowed me to direct a little (actually a lot) of anger in his direction. We argued about souls, conscience and the age of reckoning. The discussion ended with this comment from me. "If dogs aren't good enough to go to heaven, I don't want to go there either." The Baptist didn't know how to handle that.

Once again, being irrational wins the argument.
