Atheism is now a religion. Defining atheism as a religion does not bother me. Back in school, they had Atheism study groups that were mirror images of the religious study groups that were present.
What is the definition of atheism?
The dictionary says:
re·li·gionA cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.
What makes my head hurt is the legal implications. Think about the separation of church and state. A town has a tradition of putting a manger scene in the town square. An atheist is offended, sues, wins and the town takes it down. A church can then sue to reinstate the scene and will win because, by taking the manger scene down, they favor atheism. So when they put it up, the Atheist sues and .......
